For version R2013 you can find this on the “Home” tab, towards the right under “Environment”. Setting a new path will open a window that will allow you to select the folder with your data or m-files and store it with other Matlab paths. You can select to add one folder, or, if you have nested folders with data or functions, add a folder and all the subfolders inside it.
