How to Change AutoCAD Background to Black?
If you find the default white background in AutoCAD too bright and want a change, you can easily switch it to a more visually appealing black background. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to change the AutoCAD background color to black.
Step 1: Accessing the Options Menu
To begin with, open AutoCAD and navigate to the top-left corner of the screen. Click on the Application button, which is represented by an Autodesk logo.
A dropdown menu will appear. From this menu, select Options. The Options dialog box will now be displayed on your screen.
Step 2: Modifying the Display Settings
In the Options dialog box, locate and click on Display, listed on the left-hand side under the User Preferences category.
Now, you will see various display settings in the right-hand pane. Look for Background Color and click on it.
Note:
- If you are using an older version of AutoCAD, you may find this option labeled as Scheme Color.
- The steps mentioned here may vary slightly depending on your version of AutoCAD. However, they should be similar enough for you to follow along.
Step 3: Choosing Black as Background Color
A new dialog box labeled “Select Color” or “Select Scheme Color” will now appear. This dialog box allows you to choose a color for your AutoCAD background.
In this case, we want to change the background color to black. So, look for the black color square or enter the RGB values 0, 0, 0 in the respective fields.
Once you have selected the black color, click on OK to confirm your choice and close the dialog box.
Step 4: Applying the Changes
Now that you have chosen black as your background color, click on Apply & Close in the Options dialog box. This will save your changes and close the dialog box.
Congratulations! You have successfully changed the AutoCAD background color to black. The next time you launch AutoCAD, you will see a sleek black background instead of the default white one.
Note:
- If you ever want to revert to the default white background or try a different color, simply follow these steps again and choose a new color in Step 3.
- Experimenting with different colors can help personalize your AutoCAD experience and improve your workflow.
We hope this tutorial has been helpful in guiding you through changing the AutoCAD background color to black. Enjoy working on a more visually appealing canvas!
