Are you tired of starting a new project in SolidWorks and having to modify the same settings over and over again? Well, you’re in luck! In this tutorial, we will learn how to change the default template in SolidWorks, so every time you start a new project, it will automatically load with your preferred settings.

Step 1: Opening SolidWorks Options

To begin, launch SolidWorks and navigate to the “Tools” menu located at the top of the screen. Click on “Options” from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Accessing System Options

Once you are in the Options dialog box, click on “System Options” from the left-hand panel. This will open up a list of various settings for SolidWorks.

Step 3: Changing Document Templates

In the System Options window, locate and click on “Default Templates” from the list on the left-hand side. This will display options related to document templates.

Creating Custom Templates

If you have already created custom templates that you want to set as your default, click on “Browse” next to each document type (Part, Assembly, and Drawing) and select your desired template file from your computer’s file explorer. Make sure to select a template file with all your preferred settings already configured.

Creating Drawing Templates

To create a custom drawing template:
