How Do I Change the Language in AutoCAD?

Are you using AutoCAD and need to change the language settings? Don’t worry, it’s a simple process!

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to change the language in AutoCAD. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Opening the Options Dialog Box

To change the language in AutoCAD, you need to access the Options dialog box. There are two ways to open it:

  • Method 1: Click on the Application menu (the big red ‘A’ icon in the top-left corner) and select ‘Options’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Method 2: Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut by pressing ‘Ctrl + O’.

Choose whichever method is more convenient for you.

Step 2: Navigating to Language Settings

Once you have opened the Options dialog box, navigate to the ‘System’ tab. Look for the ‘Language’ section, which is usually located towards the bottom of the tab.

Note:

If your AutoCAD version is not in English or if it has been customized with different icons or labels, don’t worry. The location of options may vary slightly, but they will generally be found within similar sections.

Step 3: Selecting a New Language

In the Language section of the System tab, you will find a drop-down menu labeled ‘Current User Interface Language’. Click on this drop-down menu to reveal a list of available languages.

Note:

If your desired language is not listed, it means that it is not installed on your computer. You will need to install the language pack before proceeding with this step.

Scroll through the list and find your desired language. Click on it to select it.

Step 4: Applying the Language Change

After selecting your desired language, click on the ‘Apply’ button located at the bottom-right corner of the Options dialog box. This will apply the language change.

Note:

You may see a prompt informing you that AutoCAD needs to close and reopen for the changes to take effect. Click ‘OK’ to continue.

Step 5: Restarting AutoCAD

Once you have applied the language change, it is necessary to restart AutoCAD for the changes to take effect fully. Close AutoCAD and then reopen it.

Note:

If you had any unsaved work, make sure to save it before closing AutoCAD.

Congratulations!

You have successfully changed the language in AutoCAD! The user interface will now be displayed in your selected language, making it easier for you to navigate and work with AutoCAD.

Note:

If you ever want to revert back to your previous language or switch to a different one, simply follow these steps again and select a new language from the drop-down menu in Step 3. Remember to apply the changes and restart AutoCAD for them to take effect.
