In this tutorial, we will learn how to add fonts to Webflow. Adding custom fonts to your Webflow project can greatly enhance the visual appeal and uniqueness of your website. With Webflow’s easy-to-use interface, you can seamlessly integrate your desired fonts in just a few simple steps.
Step 1: Find and Download the Font
First, you need to find a font that suits your project. There are numerous websites where you can discover and download free or paid fonts. Some popular font repositories include Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, and Font Squirrel.
Note: Make sure to check the licensing terms for each font you download to ensure it is suitable for web use.
Step 2: Upload the Font Files
Once you have chosen and downloaded your desired font, you need to upload the font files to Webflow.
- Login to your Webflow account and open your project.
- Go to the “Project Settings” by clicking on the gear icon in the left sidebar.
- Select the “Fonts” tab in the top navigation bar.
- Click on the “Add Fonts” button.
- In the font uploader modal, click on “Upload Font Files”.
- Select all the font files from your computer (e.g., .woff, .woff2, .ttf).
- Webflow will automatically generate different file formats for cross-browser compatibility. Wait until all files are uploaded successfully.
Note:
- .woff: This format is supported by most modern browsers.
- .woff2: This format offers better compression and is recommended for improved performance.ttf: This format is an older version of TrueType fonts and is supported by most browsers.
Step 3: Define Font Styles
Once the font files are uploaded, you can define the font styles for different elements in your Webflow project.
- Select the element that you want to apply the custom font to (e., heading, paragraph).
- In the right sidebar, click on the typography tab.
- Under “Font Family,” click on the dropdown menu and select “Add Font”.
- A list of uploaded fonts will appear. Click on the font you want to use.
- You can further customize other typography properties like font size, weight, and letter spacing to achieve your desired design.
Note: You can repeat these steps for each element that you want to style with a custom font.
Step 4: Publish Your Project
After configuring all your desired font styles, it’s time to publish your Webflow project so that the custom fonts are visible on your live website.
- In Webflow Designer, click on the “Publish” button in the top right corner.
- Select your desired publishing options (e., default domain, custom domain).
- Click on “Publish” again to confirm and wait for the publishing process to complete.
Congratulations! You have successfully added custom fonts to your Webflow project. Now, enjoy the visual appeal and uniqueness that these fonts bring to your website.
