How Do I Add Google Analytics to Webflow?

Do you want to track the performance of your Webflow website? Adding Google Analytics is a great way to gain insights into your website’s traffic and user behavior. In this tutorial, we will show you how to seamlessly integrate Google Analytics into your Webflow site.

Step 1: Sign up for Google Analytics

If you haven’t already, the first step is to sign up for a Google Analytics account. Visit the Google Analytics website and click on the “Start for free” button. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your account and set up your property.

Step 2: Obtain your Tracking ID

Once you have set up your Google Analytics property, you will be provided with a unique Tracking ID. This ID is essential for connecting your Webflow site with Google Analytics. To locate your Tracking ID, navigate to the Admin section of your Google Analytics account.

Under the Property column, click on the “Tracking Info” dropdown and select “Tracking Code”. Your Tracking ID will be displayed at the top of this page, starting with “UA-“. Copy this code as we will need it in the next step.

Step 3: Add Google Analytics to Webflow

To add Google Analytics to your Webflow site, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Webflow project in the Designer.
  2. Navigate to Project Settings by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
  3. In the Project Settings panel, select the Custom Code tab.
  4. Paste your Tracking ID inside the Head Code section by clicking inside it and using Ctrl+V (or Command+V on Mac).
  5. Click on the “Save Changes” button to save your settings.

By pasting the Tracking ID in the Head Code section, Webflow will automatically add the Google Analytics tracking code to all pages of your website. This ensures that data is collected and sent to Google Analytics for analysis.

Step 4: Publish your Webflow site

After adding the Google Analytics tracking code, it’s essential to publish your Webflow site for the changes to take effect. Click on the Publish button in the top-right corner of the Designer. Once published, all visitor data will be tracked and available for analysis in your Google Analytics account.

Note:

It may take a few hours or up to 24 hours for Google Analytics to start collecting data. During this initial period, make sure you visit various pages of your website to trigger data collection.

Congratulations! You have successfully added Google Analytics to your Webflow site.

Now you can track valuable metrics such as page views, user demographics, and conversion rates. Analyzing this data will help you understand your audience better and optimize your website accordingly.

If you encounter any issues during the setup process, refer to the Webflow University or consult with their support team for assistance.

Remember: Regularly monitoring your analytics and making data-driven decisions is crucial for achieving online success!
