Creating a prototype with Figma is a great way to quickly create an interactive design concept. The process of creating a prototype is relatively easy, and the Figma platform makes it even easier.
However, many users are unaware of how they can access their Figma prototypes on their desktop. In this article, we’ll explain how to get your Figma prototypes onto your desktop in just a few simple steps.
Step 1: Download the Figma Desktop App
The first step towards getting your prototype onto your desktop is to download the Figma Desktop App. This app will allow you to access all of your Figma projects from your computer’s desktop. To download the app, simply go to the Figma website, click on the ‘Download’ tab and select ‘Desktop App’ from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Log in with Your Figma Account
Once you have downloaded the app, you will need to log in with your existing Figma account. If you don’t already have one, you can create an account directly from the app by entering some basic information such as your name and email address.
Step 3: Access Your Prototype
Once you have logged in with your account, you will be able to access all of your prototypes that are stored on the platform. To do so, simply click on ‘Projects’ in the left-hand side menu and select which project you would like to open.
From there, you will be able to view and interact with all of the components of your prototype.
Step 4: Export Your Prototype
If you would like to make any changes or edits to your prototype from outside of the platform, then you can easily export it as an HTML file or as an image file (JPG or PNG). To do this, simply click on ‘Export’ at the top right corner of the screen and select which file type you would like to use for exporting.
Getting a Figma Prototype onto your desktop is easy when following these 4 simple steps. All that needs to be done is downloading and logging into the Desktop App, accessing projects inside it, and then exporting them as HTML or image files for further editing outside of Figma.
