How Do You Activate Interactive Components in Figma?

Interactive components are a great way to add a level of interactivity to your design projects in Figma. They allow you to create dynamic interactions between objects, layers, and frames within your designs. With Figma’s interactive components, you can create complex and powerful animations that take your designs to the next level.

To activate an interactive component in Figma, you first need to create it. To do this, you can use the “Interactive Components” panel located on the left side of your workspace. This panel is populated with all available interactive components including buttons, sliders, and drop-down lists. Select the component you want to use from the list and drag it into your design canvas.

Once you have dragged the component onto your canvas, it will appear as a gray box with a dotted border around it.

This is known as the “interactive component frame” and is where all of your animation settings will be stored. You can then use the drag handles on the frame to resize or rotate it as needed.

Next, select the component frame and open up its properties panel on the right side of your workspace. Here, you can adjust settings such as duration, easing type, opacity, scale, rotation angle etc., depending on what kind of animation effect you want to create.

After setting up all of your animation settings in this panel, click on the “Activate” button at the bottom right corner of this panel to enable your interactive component frame. Once activated, any changes made within this frame will be reflected in real-time within Figma.

Conclusion:

In order to activate an interactive component in Figma, first create it using the “Interactive Components” panel located on the left side of your workspace. Then adjust its animation settings in its properties panel on the right side before clicking on “Activate” at the bottom right corner of this panel.
