Step 1: Open SketchUp

If you haven’t already, open SketchUp on your computer. You can either start a new project or open an existing one.

Step 2: Select the Door

Click on the “Select” tool in the toolbar and then click on the door you want to add a window to. The selected door should now be highlighted.

Step 3: Create a New Component

In the menu bar, go to “Edit” > “Create Component”. A dialog box will appear.

  • Name: Enter a name for your component, such as “Door with Window”.
  • Description: Optionally, provide a description for your component.
  • Create from: Make sure “Selection” is selected.
  • Replace selection with component: Check this box.

If you want to make further modifications to your door with a window component, double-click on it again to enter editing mode. You can then edit or delete the window as needed.
