A dialog box will appear when you activate the chamfer tool. This dialog box allows you to set various parameters for your chamfer, such as distance and angle.
- Distance: This determines how far the chamfer extends along each selected line. You can enter a specific value or use the slider to adjust it visually.
- Angle: This sets the angle at which your chamfers will be created.
Again, you can enter a specific value or use the slider for visual adjustment.
- Sides: This option determines how many sides your chamfers will have. The default setting is 1, which creates a bevel on one side of the line. You can increase this value to create chamfers on both sides.
Step 4: Apply the Chamfer
Once you have set the parameters, click on the ‘OK’ button to apply the chamfer to your selected lines. You will see the chamfered edges or corners appear instantly on your model.
Tips:
If you want to adjust the chamfer after applying it, simply double-click on the chamfered edge(s) with the selection tool. The dialog box will reappear, allowing you to modify the parameters as needed.
To remove a chamfer, select the chamfered edge(s), right-click, and choose ‘Explode’ from the context menu. This will revert the edges back to their original state.
