Step 1: Select the Furniture
The first step is to select the furniture that you want to delete. To do this, simply click on the furniture component or group with the Select tool (the arrow icon) in the toolbar. You will notice that the selected furniture becomes highlighted.
Step 2: Use the Delete Key
Once you have selected the furniture, press the Delete key on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can right-click on the selected furniture and choose “Delete” from the context menu.
Note:
Make sure to double-check before deleting any component or group as it cannot be undone.
Step 3: Confirm Deletion
A confirmation dialog box will appear asking if you want to delete the selected furniture. Click “Yes” to proceed with the deletion or “No” if you change your mind.
Step 4: Verify Deletion
To verify that the furniture has been successfully deleted, take a look at your model. You should no longer see the deleted furniture in your design.
Note:
If you accidentally delete something and wish to undo it, simply press Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Command+Z (Mac) on your keyboard immediately after deleting.
Tips for Efficient Deletion:
- Select multiple furniture: To delete multiple furniture items at once, hold down the Shift key while clicking on each item with the Select tool. Once all the desired furniture is selected, follow steps 2-4 to delete them.
- Delete hidden furniture: SketchUp allows you to hide objects temporarily.
If you want to delete hidden furniture, make sure to unhide them first by going to View > Hidden Geometry and selecting “Unhide All”. Then, follow the deletion steps mentioned above.
