Next, click on “File” in the top menu bar and select “New” from the dropdown menu. Choose “Part” and click “OK” to create a new part file.
Step 3: Select the Plane
Now, select the plane where you want to sketch your box. In this example, we will choose the front plane. To do this, click on “Front Plane” in the feature tree or use the drop-down menu under “Reference Geometry”.
Step 4: Sketch a Rectangle
Once you have selected the plane, it’s time to sketch the base of your box. Click on “Sketch” in the top menu bar and choose “Rectangle”. Now, click on two opposite corners of where you want your box base to be located.
Tips:
- Press Ctr+8 for shortcut access to sketches.
- To constrain proportions, hold down Ctr+Shift.

Step 6: Add Dimensions and Fillets (Optional)
If you want to add dimensions or fillets to your box, now is the time. Select the respective tools from the sketch toolbar, click on the edges or faces you want to modify, and enter the desired values in the property manager.
