GIFs can be a great way to add some fun and life to your Canva designs, but their background can often detract from the overall look. Fortunately, it’s easy to remove the background of a GIF in Canva, leaving you with a clean, professional looking animation.
Step 1: Upload Your GIF
The first step is to upload your GIF into Canva. To do this, simply click on ‘Uploads’ in the left-hand sidebar and select your GIF file from your computer. Once the file is uploaded, you’ll be able to see it in the main window.
Step 2: Select The Object Tool
Once your GIF is uploaded and visible in the main window, select the ‘Object’ tool from the top toolbar. This will allow you to select individual elements of your design and make changes as needed.
Step 3: Select The Background Layer Of Your GIF
Now that you have selected the Object tool, hover over each element of your design until a small box appears around it. When you see this box appear around your GIF’s background layer, click it to select it.
Step 4: Delete The Background Layer Of Your GIF
Once you have selected the background layer of your GIF, simply press delete on your keyboard or right-click and select ‘Delete’ from the menu. The background layer will now be removed from your image.
Step 5:Save And Enjoy!
Now that you’ve removed the background of your GIF in Canva, all that’s left to do is save it and enjoy!
You can save as either a PNG or JPEG file by clicking on ‘Export’ in the top toolbar.
